AI SEO, GEO and AEO

AI SEO services that help answer engines understand and quote your business

People now ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews before they click a website. We structure your content, entities and markup so those systems can understand your business and, where they choose to, quote it.

Quick answer

AI SEO, also called generative engine optimization (GEO) or answer engine optimization (AEO), prepares your content to be found, understood and quoted by AI answer tools as well as Google. It is included in our SEO growth plan from AED 1,500 ($410 or ₹35,000) a month. No one can guarantee AI citations.

  • Answer-first content
  • Entity and schema clarity
  • No citation guarantees

What is AI SEO?

AI SEO is the practice of making your website easy for search engines and AI assistants to retrieve, understand and cite, so you appear when people ask questions instead of only when they type keywords.

Three overlapping terms are in use. Generative engine optimization (GEO) focuses on being included and cited in answers written by generative AI, such as ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Answer engine optimization (AEO) focuses on being the direct answer in featured snippets, voice assistants and answer boxes. Traditional SEO focuses on ranking pages in the list of results.

In practice the work overlaps heavily. Clear, accurate, well-structured pages from a recognizable business help in all three. That is why we treat AI SEO as an extension of good SEO, not a separate trick, and why it sits inside our SEO services.

A note on spelling: this page uses American spelling because the term is mostly searched that way in the US, but we write British spelling (optimisation) for UAE and Indian audiences.

GEO vs AEO vs traditional SEO

The goals differ, and so does how you measure them.

What is known to help content get quoted

These practices are consistent with public guidance from search engines and with how answer systems retrieve content. They improve your odds. They do not guarantee a citation.

Answer-first content

Open each page with a direct 40 to 60 word answer to the main question, then give detail. Easy to extract and easy to quote.

Entity clarity

State who you are, what you do, where and for whom, consistently across your site, profiles and directories. Machines match entities, not slogans.

Structured data

Organization, Service, FAQPage, Article and BreadcrumbList schema that matches visible content. See technical SEO.

Quotable facts and tables

Specific numbers, definitions, comparisons and checklists in clean HTML tables and lists, not images.

Brand mentions and trust

Reviews, local citations, press mentions and links from relevant sites help systems decide you are a real, reliable source.

Crawlable and indexed pages

If a page is not indexed, it cannot be retrieved. Basics first. See Search Console set-up.

Content formats that get quoted

Answer engines look for passages they can lift cleanly. These formats make that easy.

Optimizing for ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews

Each system retrieves sources differently, so we plan for the shared requirements and then test the specifics.

  • Google AI Overviews and AI Mode: draw on pages already indexed and eligible in Google Search, so standard SEO and structured data matter.
  • ChatGPT search: can browse the web and cite sources, so crawlable, clearly written pages and a clear brand entity help.
  • Perplexity: cites sources prominently, which rewards pages with concise answers, facts and recognizable authority.
  • Gemini: uses Google's index and knowledge systems, so entity clarity and Business Profile accuracy help.
  • Voice search: short, spoken-style answers and accurate local details help devices read your answer aloud.

What we do on every page

  • Write the direct answer first
  • Add a table or list where it fits
  • Build a genuine FAQ
  • Add matching schema
  • Link related pages
  • Check the page is crawlable and indexed

llms.txt, entity SEO and brand mentions: what is worth doing

Some AI tactics are well supported, and some are speculative. We tell you which is which.

llms.txt is a proposed plain-text file that points AI tools to your most useful pages. It is cheap to add, so we can include one, but major search providers have not confirmed that they rely on it. Treat it as optional and do not expect it to change visibility on its own.

Entity SEO means making sure search and AI systems can tell exactly who you are: a consistent name, description, address, profiles and schema across your site and the wider web. This is well supported and supports local and brand queries. It ties into local SEO.

Brand mentions matter because AI systems often draw on sources beyond your own website, including directories, reviews, news and forums. Earning accurate mentions in credible places helps, and we avoid spammy tactics that can backfire.

How we approach AI SEO

  1. Baseline

We test questions your buyers ask across AI tools and Google, record who is cited, and review your indexed pages and schema.

  2. Fix the foundation

We repair crawling, indexing and structured data so pages can be retrieved.

  3. Rewrite for answers

We add direct answers, tables, FAQs and clear definitions to priority pages, and publish new pages for unanswered questions.

  4. Strengthen entity and mentions

We align business details across your site and profiles, and plan credible mentions and reviews.

  5. Track and adjust

We re-test questions each month, track referrals and adjust, while being clear that AI results vary.

AI SEO questions answered

What is AI SEO?

AI SEO is optimizing your website so search engines and AI assistants can find, understand and quote it. It combines standard SEO with answer-first writing, clear entities and structured data. It is sometimes called generative engine optimization (GEO) or answer engine optimization (AEO).

What is the difference between GEO and AEO?

AEO aims to be the direct answer in featured snippets, answer boxes and voice results. GEO aims to be cited in answers written by generative AI such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Both rely on clear, trustworthy, well-structured content, so the work overlaps.

Can you guarantee my business will appear in ChatGPT or AI Overviews?

No. AI systems differ, change often and do not publish how they choose sources. We improve the factors known to help and test your visibility, but promising a citation would be dishonest.

How do I optimize my website for ChatGPT and Perplexity?

Make sure pages are crawlable and indexed, open each page with a direct answer, use tables, lists and FAQs, add accurate schema, and keep your business details consistent across the web. Earning credible mentions helps these tools trust you as a source.

Does AI SEO replace regular SEO?

No. Google AI Overviews and most AI search tools depend on pages that are already indexed and trusted, so traditional SEO remains the base. AI SEO adds formatting, entity clarity and measurement on top. Read our guide on how AI is changing SEO.

Do I need an llms.txt file?

It is optional. The file is a proposed way to point AI tools to your best pages, but major search providers have not confirmed they depend on it. We can add one at little cost, though it should not replace real content and technical work.

Does FAQ schema still help?

Google shows FAQ rich results far less than before, but accurate FAQ markup and visible FAQ content still help machines understand your page and match question-style searches. Our FAQ schema guide explains what to expect.

How much does AI SEO cost?

AI-search formatting is included in our SEO growth plan, which starts from AED 1,500 a month in the UAE, $410 in the US and ₹35,000 in India. Smaller projects, such as rewriting key pages, are quoted in writing after a scoping call.

How do you measure AI search visibility?

We test a set of buyer questions across AI tools and Google each month, note which brands and pages are cited, and track referral traffic and impressions for question-style queries. Results vary by prompt and location, so we treat them as indicators, not exact rankings.

Is AI SEO different for the UAE, the US and India?

The principles are the same, but language, location and sources differ. In the UAE that can mean English and Arabic content, in the US city and state context, and in India city and regional-language queries. See our pages for the UAE, United States and India.
