Search Console and indexing

Google Search Console setup that gets your site indexed and measured

We verify your site, submit your sitemap, fix what blocks indexing, request indexing for your priority pages and connect Bing too. You finish with a site Google can read and a report you can understand.

Quick answer

Google Search Console setup means verifying your site, submitting a sitemap, checking indexing and fixing errors so your pages can appear in Google. Our one-time set-up starts from AED 400 ($110 or ₹9,000), including Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow. Indexing speed varies, and nobody can guarantee it.

  • One-time fixed price
  • Bing and IndexNow included
  • No indexing guarantees, honest advice

What is Google Search Console and why set it up?

Google Search Console is Google's free tool that shows how your website is crawled, indexed and found in search, and tells you when something is wrong.

Without it, you are guessing. You cannot see which pages Google has indexed, which queries bring impressions, whether mobile usability or Core Web Vitals problems exist, or whether a manual action or security issue has been flagged.

Setting it up correctly takes more than adding a code. The property type, the sitemap, the redirects and robots rules, and the pages you ask Google to prioritise all affect how quickly and fully your site appears. That is the work we do.

Every website we build includes a basic Search Console set-up. This page is for existing sites, new sites built elsewhere and sites where Google is not showing the pages it should. It also underpins our wider SEO services.

What we set up, and why it matters

Search Console and indexing set-up checklist
What we set upWhy it matters
Property verification (domain or URL-prefix)Proves you own the site and decides what data you can see. See the comparison below.
XML sitemap submissionGives Google a clean list of the URLs you want indexed, and flags sitemap errors.
robots.txt and noindex reviewFinds rules or tags that accidentally block pages from search.
Canonical and redirect checkMakes sure each page has one preferred address, so signals are not split.
Indexing auditCompares the pages you want indexed with what Google reports, and explains the gap.
Request indexing for priority URLsAsks Google to crawl your most important pages sooner.
Structured data and Core Web Vitals reportsShows whether rich-result markup is valid and whether real users get a fast, stable page.
Bing Webmaster ToolsCovers Bing and the search products that use its index.
IndexNowPings participating search engines when pages are added or changed, instead of waiting to be crawled.
User access and handoverYou own the account, we are added as a user, and you get a short walkthrough of the reports.

Google does not guarantee that any submitted page will be indexed. We make sure nothing on your side stands in the way.

Domain property or URL-prefix property: which should you use?

Search Console offers two property types. The choice affects how much data you see.

Domain property compared with URL-prefix property
Domain propertyURL-prefix property
What it coversAll subdomains and both http and https versions of your domainOnly the exact address prefix you enter, including its protocol
VerificationDNS record at your domain registrarDNS, HTML file, meta tag, analytics or tag manager
Best forA complete view of the whole site, usually the recommended choiceCases where you cannot edit DNS, or want to isolate one section or subdomain
LimitationNeeds DNS accessCan miss traffic on other protocols or subdomains

Common indexing errors in Search Console, causes and fixes

The Pages report groups URLs by status. These are the ones business owners ask about most.

Search Console indexing statuses, likely causes and fixes
StatusLikely causesWhat we do
Crawled, currently not indexedThin or duplicate content, weak internal links, low perceived value, or a very new siteImprove the page's content and purpose, add internal links from strong pages, merge or remove near-duplicates, then request indexing
Discovered, currently not indexedGoogle knows the URL but has not crawled it: crawl priority is low, the site is new, or the server is slowLink to the page from prominent places, improve server speed, submit a clean sitemap and reduce low-value URLs
Duplicate without user-selected canonicalSeveral similar URLs and no clear preferred versionSet a self-referencing canonical, consolidate duplicates with redirects, fix parameters and trailing-slash variants
Duplicate, Google chose a different canonicalGoogle disagrees with your canonical because pages are near-identicalMake the pages meaningfully different or point canonical to the page you really want
Excluded by noindex tagA noindex tag or header left from development or added by a pluginRemove it from pages that should rank, and keep it only on pages that should not
Blocked by robots.txtA disallow rule covers the page or folderCorrect the rule, test it and resubmit
Page with redirectThe URL redirects elsewhere, which is normal for old addressesConfirm the target is correct, and update internal links to point to the final URL
Not found (404)Deleted or mistyped URLs, often in old sitemaps or linksRestore, redirect to the closest page or remove the link and sitemap entry
Server error (5xx)Hosting overload, misconfiguration or downtimeFix hosting or configuration, then validate the fix in Search Console

Not every excluded URL is a problem. Search Console lists pages that are meant to be excluded, such as redirects and filtered duplicates. We focus on pages that should earn traffic.

How long does it take for Google to index a website?

It can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks for new pages, and sometimes longer. Nobody can promise a date.

Indexing is Google's decision. Speed depends on how new the domain is, how easily it can be crawled, how many other sites link to it, how useful the pages are and how fast the server responds. Established, well-linked sites tend to be crawled more often than brand-new ones.

What we can do is remove obstacles and give Google clear signals: a clean sitemap, internal links, accurate canonicals, a fast site and, where useful, an indexing request for key pages. For a step-by-step explanation, read our guide on how to get your website indexed on Google fast and our technical SEO checklist.

If a page is still not indexed after the technical basics are right, the cause is usually content value or site authority, not a missing button in Search Console.

Google Search Console questions answered

How much does Google Search Console setup cost?

Our one-time Search Console and indexing set-up starts from AED 400 in the UAE, $110 in the US and ₹9,000 in India. It covers verification, sitemap submission, an indexing audit, indexing requests for priority pages, a structured-data and Core Web Vitals check, and Bing and IndexNow set-up. You receive a fixed written quote.

How do I submit my sitemap to Google?

Verify your property in Search Console, open the Sitemaps report, enter the sitemap address (often /sitemap.xml) and submit. Google then reports whether it could read it and how many URLs it found. The sitemap should list only canonical, indexable pages, and it can also be referenced in your robots.txt file.

How long does it take Google to index my website?

It varies from a few days to several weeks, and some pages take longer or are never indexed. Domain age, links, content quality, site speed and crawl accessibility all play a part. We remove technical obstacles and report on progress, but no one can guarantee a date.

Why does Search Console say Crawled, currently not indexed?

Google visited the page and chose not to index it yet. The common causes are thin or duplicate content, little internal linking, or low site authority. Improve the page's value, link to it from important pages, and request indexing again after changes.

What does Discovered, currently not indexed mean?

Google knows about the URL but has not crawled it. This often happens on new or large sites, or when the server is slow. Better internal links, a clean sitemap, fewer low-value URLs and faster hosting usually help.

How do I fix Duplicate without user-selected canonical?

Several versions of a page exist and you have not told Google which to prefer. Add a self-referencing canonical tag, redirect unwanted variants such as http, www or trailing-slash duplicates, and tidy URL parameters. Then validate the fix in the Pages report.

Should I use a domain property or a URL-prefix property?

A domain property is usually best because it covers every subdomain and protocol in one view, but it needs DNS access. A URL-prefix property is easier to verify and useful for separating a subdomain or folder. We can set up both when it makes sense.

Do I need Bing Webmaster Tools and IndexNow?

They are optional but cheap to add. Bing Webmaster Tools lets you submit sitemaps and see Bing data, and IndexNow notifies participating engines when content changes. This helps Bing and tools that use its index discover pages sooner. Google does not currently use IndexNow.

Is Search Console included when you build my website?

Yes. Every site from our web development service includes Search Console set-up, a submitted sitemap and a request to index your priority pages at launch. This service is for sites built elsewhere or sites with indexing problems.

Can you fix indexing for a site in the UAE or the US?

Yes. Indexing works the same everywhere, but we also check the signals that matter for each market, such as country targeting, hreflang for Arabic and English, and local business information. See the pages for the UAE and the United States.
