How much does app development cost in the UAE?

App prices in the UAE vary widely because two apps that sound alike can be very different in size. This guide anchors on our own published starting prices and explains what moves the number, so you can budget and compare quotes.

Short answer

Our starting price for a quotation and invoice app is AED 1,400, and a custom web app starts at AED 2,000. Final cost depends on scope: screens, user roles, integrations, reports, design and maintenance. Larger, multi-module systems are scoped in phases and quoted after discovery. Hosting, VAT and third-party licences are separate.

What are the starting prices for a business app?

These are starting points for a clearly scoped project, not fixed prices. You receive a fixed written quote after a short scoping call.

What drives the cost of app development?

Cost follows the amount of work, not the label on the project. These are the factors that move a quote most.

Which types of app cost more than others?

Complexity roughly follows the number of moving parts. The ratings below are relative, not prices.

What is usually not included in an app quote?

Ask for exclusions in writing, because they are where surprises come from. Common ones are:

  • Domain name and hosting, which are normally yearly or monthly costs.
  • Third-party licences and usage fees, such as SMS, WhatsApp business messaging, payment gateways or AI services.
  • VAT, which in the UAE is currently 5% on most services. Confirm the current rules with your accountant or the Federal Tax Authority.
  • Content, product data entry and photography.
  • Ongoing maintenance, support and new features after launch.
  • Native app store apps. We build web apps that are responsive and installable (PWA); a native iOS or Android app is a separate scope.

How do you get an accurate quote for an app?

The more specific your brief, the more reliable the number. A good brief takes an hour to write.

  1. Describe the problem and the users

Say who uses the app, what they do today and what goes wrong. Examples from real documents help.

  2. List the must-have features

Separate essential features from nice-to-haves, and expect the second list to wait for version two.

  3. Name the systems it must connect to

Accounting package, payment gateway, WhatsApp, email or an existing ERP all affect scope.

  4. Share sample documents and data

Existing invoices, quotes, spreadsheets and price lists show real complexity quickly.

  5. Ask for a fixed written quote

It should list scope, exclusions, hosting arrangements and how changes will be priced.

Is a custom app worth the cost?

It is worth it when it removes a recurring cost, such as hours of retyping, licence fees that rise with every new user or errors that reach customers. It is not worth it when a standard product already fits your process. Our guides on custom vs off-the-shelf software and when a business needs custom software help you test that honestly.

A sensible way to control cost is to start with one workflow, such as turning quotes into tax invoices, and expand once it works. Our pages on custom invoicing apps and custom quotation apps describe that kind of focused first build, and the wider custom business app overview shows what can follow.

If you plan a larger system with stock, purchasing and accounts, see our ERP software page, and for the build approach, web application development. Also read the UAE page for how we work with UAE businesses remotely.

App development cost in the UAE: common questions

How much does it cost to build a business app in the UAE?

Our quotation and invoice app starts at AED 1,400 and a custom web app starts at AED 2,000. The final figure depends on screens, roles, integrations, reports and design, and is fixed in a written quote.

Why do app development quotes vary so much?

Scope, not quality alone. One quote may include integrations, reports, Arabic support and migration while another leaves them out. Compare quotes against the same written list of features and exclusions.

Are hosting and VAT included in the price?

Starting prices exclude hosting, domain, third-party licences and VAT where applicable. UAE VAT is currently 5% on most services, but confirm the current rules with your accountant.

How much does a custom invoicing app cost?

A quotation and invoice app starts at AED 1,400 in the UAE, $380 in the US and ₹32,000 in India. Branded PDFs, multiple logins and integrations change the final quote.

Do you build native iOS and Android apps?

We build responsive web apps that can be installed on a phone as a progressive web app. A native app store app is a separate scope that we would discuss and quote on a scoping call.

Does the cost include maintenance after launch?

Not unless your quote says so. Hosting, backups, fixes and new features are ongoing costs. Agree how support and future changes are priced before you start.

Can I start with a smaller app and add features later?

Yes, and it is usually wise. Launch the workflow that matters most, use it for a while, then add modules. This controls upfront cost and shows what the business really needs.

Want a fixed quote for your app?

Describe the workflow, the users and the systems it must connect to. You get a fixed written quote after a short scoping call, with exclusions listed clearly.
